LDO BabyBelt Pro V2.6 Printer Kit

The BabyBelt Pro is a conveyor belt 3D printer kit, built around an inclined belt bed. Prints run past the usual Z limit and slide off the end of the machine when they are finished, no clearing the bed between jobs. Queue a batch and let it run overnight. The LDO version is a validated V2.6 build with matched motors, integrated electronics, and a tested Klipper configuration, aimed at experienced makers and small studios doing short production runs.

Continuous Printing

A belt printer changes what a print queue looks like. The parts eject themselves as they finish, so the machine can keep working non-stop. Long parts can also run well past the height of the frame. The BabyBelt Pro brings those features to a compact, desktop sized footprint on an open, Klipper-based platform that you can modify and repair yourself.

LDO Improvements

  • Integrated control electronics. An SKR Mini E3 V3 running a Klipper-based architecture, supplied with a working configuration, so firmware setup requires far less tinkering than a scratch build.
  • Batch-matched stepper motors. LDO 42 and 28 series motors selected from consistent production batches. Mixed-source motors are one of the usual causes of vibration and inconsistent motion on DIY belt printers.
  • BabyBelt toolboard and wiring. Wiring is consolidated through a dedicated toolboard rather than run point to point, which means fewer connections to fail and a quicker assembly.
  • Optimized inclined belt bed. The bed geometry is tuned so completed parts release and travel off the end cleanly, which is what makes unattended batch printing actually work.
  • Validated V2.6 BOM. The parts in this kit are tested for compatibility, eliminating the guesswork that holds up a lot of scratch builds.

Open Design

The BabyBelt Pro is an open source design from Rob Mink at Printcepts, published in full on GitHub under GPL-3.0.

It runs on Klipper firmware, so the macros and web interfaces used across the Voron ecosystem apply here too. Development is ongoing, with an active community on the community Discord.
